The short story: The women's team continued their indoor season and quest for a repeat conference title in Blacksburg, Va., as they turned in impressive performances throughout the weekend, most notably in the throwing events.Â

Kayelyn Tate (7.61) earned fourth place in the prelims of the 60-meter race, sending her to the finals where she finished seventh

Lauryn Taylor (7.62) finished right behind Tate in the 60, also sending her to the finals where she earned eighth, once again finishing on the heels of Tate

Sophomore Jaliyah Person (25.11) notched a seventh-place performance in the 200-meter in a field that consisted of 38 runners

Eryn Byrd finished fifth of 30 contestants in the weight throw, recording a distance of 19.06m. This marked Byrd's first time throwing over 19.00m in the weight throw. Byrd (14.83m) also notched a third-place performance in the shot put

Gudrun Hallgrimsdottir (21.62m) started her indoor season strong with a second-place performance in the weight throw. Her 21.62m throw ranks in the top 10 across the NCAA this season

Redshirt junior Like Matalatala threw a personal best of 13.83m in the shot put to finish seventh out of 23 throwers
