SHORT STORY: VCU brought a complete 90-minute fight against No. 4 Virginia, carrying the stalemate into the 77th minute, but a late Cavaliers goal off the crossbar led them to a 1-0 victory.

  • The Cavaliers held a high-majority of possession time, leading to resilient defensive efforts from the Rams throughout the game
  • Moving into the 71st minute, the Cavaliers threatened with another shot just below the crossbar, once again saved due to a miraculous effort from Goalkeeper Allison Karpovich
  • Cavaliers forward Maggie Cagle scored the decisive goal for fourth-ranked Virginia to extend its perfect record
