Lara Del Core racked up 12 kills but VCU fell to Binghamton Friday night at Rutgers' College Avenue Gym.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Del Core converted her 12 kills on 27 swings and hit .296 on the day. She also served up one of VCU's three aces
- Junior outside hitter Julia Rienks spiked 11 kills, while hitting .304 for the Black and Gold
- In the middle, graduate Jasmine Knight committed just one error on 12 attempts and finished with seven kills for the Rams
- Sophomore libero Anja Kujundzic chipped in with 10 digs, five assists and a service ace for VCU
- Tsvetelina Ilieva and Ella Schabort sparked the Bearcats with 12 kills apiece
THE DIFFERENCE
- Binghamton hit .436 on the day, including .688 on the second set alone. The Bearcats were charged with just five hitting errors in 78 attempts
- VCU also surrendered nine Binghamton aces
- The Rams grabbed a 19-18 lead in the first set on a Binghamton service error, but four different Bearcats registered a kill during a 7-1 blitz to close out the frame
- In the third, VCU watched as Binghamton fought off back-to-back set points. Tsvetelina eventually helped put the Bearcats over the top with a kill and an ace as Binghamton scored the final four points of the set on the way to a 26-24 win
