Richmond, Va. – VCU Men's Tennis Head Coach Dimi Kutrovsky has announced the signings of Alfred Almasi and Kostiantyn Mantach.
Almasi, who is from Trstice, Slovakia, comes to VCU as a transfer from Grand Canyon. During his time with the Antelopes, he compiled a 14-21 singles record and a 9-11 doubles mark in two seasons, and was named to the 2024 Academic All-WAC Team.
Prior to his collegiate career, Almasi won one singles title and one doubles title and ranked as high as No. 349 in the ITF Junior Rankings.
"I chose VCU because of the great tennis program and their excellent academics," Almasi said.
Mantach joins VCU from Kyiv, Ukraine where he was ranked as high as 240 in the ITF Junior Rankings.
Mantach has won two ITF singles titles and three doubles titles through his junior career.
