  • VCU responded by scoring three of the next four goals and McDonnell's goal got VCU within 7-5 with 5:11 left in the second quarter. The Hawks scored twice to take a 9-5 lead
  • The Rams got within 13-10 with 10:53 left in the fourth quarter on a goal from Kozak with 10:53 left but were unable to cut the deficit further
