Brandon Eike collected three hits, but George Mason rallied past VCU Saturday afternoon in Fairfax.

LEADING OFF
- Eike recorded a 3-for-4 day at the plate, including a double, and scored both of VCU's runs
- Senior centerfielder Cooper Benzin (2-for-4) doubled and drove in a run for the Black and Gold, while graduate DH Eli Weisner finished 2-for-3 with an RBI
- Senior lefthander Christian Gordon started and allowed three runs over six innings of work for VCU. He struck out five
THE STRETCH
- George Mason plated two runs in the bottom half of the sixth to take a 3-2 lead. The Patriots hit three straight one-out singles to tie the game. Reece Woody followed with a fly ball to left to bring home James Quinn-Irons with the go-ahead run
- VCU grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth. Eike led off the inning with a double to right center, and Weisner beat out an infield single two batters later. Later, with two outs, Benzin bounced a ball over the first-base bag and into right field for an RBI double
- Weisner initially staked the Rams to a 1-0 lead with a sac fly in the fourth inning
NOTABLE
- Gordon extended his scoreless innings streak to 17 before the Patriots were able to squeeze across a run in the fifth
- VCU left nine runners on base
