The short story: Sophomore
Aubrey Bryant turned in strong performances in both the 4x100 relay and individual 100-meter dash Friday to lead VCU at the Texas Relays.
SPRINTS
- In the men's 4x100 relay the team of sophomore Aubrey Bryant, freshman Emmanuel Oche, graduate Darius Reed and freshman Channan Mathis combined for a 41.95 finish
- Bryant's day wasn't done as the Florida native also competed in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 10.94 seconds, which tied a personal best
- Junior Marcus Wilson pre-qualified for the 110-meter hurdle final, finishing in 14.67 seconds
- The Rams competed in the 4x400 (3:14.26) as freshman Jude Okafor, junior Kacey Pratt, Mathis, and graduate Joel Bowers completed the race for the Black and Gold
Meet: Bobcat Relay
Location: San Marcos, TX. (Texas State University)
The short story: The lone competitor for the Rams, freshman
Jaiden Oglesby, cleared 1.91 meters in the high jump. Oglesby jump was good enough to tie the third-best high jump performance A-10 this season.
Meet: Raleigh Relays
Location: Raleigh, NC. (N.C. State)
The short story: Junior
John Casper threw 48.35 meters in the discus, the second farthest throw for a junior in the event.
