The Short Story: Despite dropping the doubles point and getting down 3-0, VCU rallied in its last four singles to clinch the contest on Sunday afternoon in Richmond.
Opening Serve
- The match began in dramatic fashion, with the doubles point end in two 7-5 wins for the 49ers on courts three and one
- Charlotte continued with its foot on the gas in singles play and got out to a 3-0 lead with victories on courts six and four
- Oscar Pinto Sansano got VCU on the board with a solid win in two sets on court two

- Shortly after, Hamza El Amine won his singles in a match he found himself down 4-1 in the first set to complete the comeback and seal the win for VCU
