Jaiden Oglesby jumped to a first-place finish in the men's high jump to highlight Friday's action across town at Richmond's Fred Hardy Invitational.
JUMPS
- Oglesby leaped 2.05 meters (6' 8 ¾'') on his second attempt to capture the high jump competition. It's the second straight high jump win for the Stafford, Va. native. Ogelsby also claimed gold last weekend at William & Mary's Dan Stimson Memorial InvitationalÂ
SPRINTS
- Senior Joel Bowers led the pack for the Rams in the men's 200-meter dash, clocking 21.84 on the way to a second-place finish
- Freshman Jaeden Cassell also placed fifth in the 200 in 22.09, and claimed silver in the 100
- Cassell and Bowers also teamed with freshman Isaiah Brightman and sophomore Winston Broiles to take second in the 4x400-meter relay
DISTANCE
- Kendall Phillips edged closer to the 4-minute mark in the 1500. The junior crossed the finish line in 4:00.42 to set a new personal-best
- In the 1500, freshman Cole Dawson, and junior Nahim Abdallah also set personal records
- Senior Kyle Weldon scored a top-10 finish in the 5,000 and set a new personal best in the event. Teammate Hudson Barth also PR'd in the event
- Freshman Carter Smith set a new personal record in the 800
NEXT UP
VCU will head to Austin, Texas to compete in the prestigious Texas Relays March 27-30.
