RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball earned a bid to the inaugural Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT) and will play Villanova on Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.

The Rams finished the regular season 26-5, setting a new program record for regular season wins, and finished second in the Atlantic 10. VCU earned its 13^th postseason berth overall and will make its 12^th appearance (the 2021 WNIT was canceled due to COVID-19).

The Rams have now earned postseason berths in five of the last six seasons overall. In that stretch, VCU has earned a berth in one NCAA Tournament and four WNITs in addition to the first WBIT berth this season.
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

First round play is scheduled for Thursday, March 21, with the second round playing March 24. Quarterfinals will be held on March 28 with four teams advancing to Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University for the semifinals on Monday, April 1. The WBIT will conclude with the inaugural championship game on Wednesday, April 3. Preliminary WBIT games are being televised on ESPN+, while the semifinals will be on ESPNU, and the finals will be on ESPN2. The winner of the game will face the winner of Virginia and High Point on Saturday, March 24.
