RAMS FALL IN TIGHT CONTEST WITH MONARCHS

The Short Story: In their fourth match to come down to the final point this season, the Rams dropped a tough contest against Old Dominion for just their second loss on the year.

Opening Serve

  • The doubles point came down to court two in dramatic fashion, with Tiziana Rossini and Emma Rizzetto slipping past the Monarchs in tiebreaker sets. It is the pair's fourth straight doubles win
  • Due to a forfeit on court six, VCU began singles with a 2-0 lead. The Monarchs would fight their way onto the scoreboard with two singles victories on courts four and one to tie it before Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando set the Rams up to clinch with her victory on court two
  • The Monarchs would tie it up again on court three after a tough loss on court four
  • For the deciding point, Old Dominion took a hard-fought match in three sets on court five.
