Sarah Te-Biasu finished with a game-high 25 points, her fifth 20-point game of the season, but the Richmond Spiders used a fourth quarter run to overtake the Rams for the win.

OPENING TIP
- Te-Biasu tied her season high in field goals made, shooting 9-for-17 from the field, going 5-for-10 from beyond the arc. She added a pair of assists and grabbed three rebounds
- Timaya Lewis-Eutsey scored was the only other Ram in double figures with 11 points, going 2-for-3 from 3-point range. Lewis also grabbed six boards and added three assists
- For the third time in the past four games, senior forward Mykel Parham grabbed at least 10 rebounds, finishing with a game-high 12 boards
- Richmond had three score in double figures, led by Grace Townsend's 23 points
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Rams led for the opening three quarters, reaching a game-high lead of 12 and a 19-7 margin after the end of the first quarter
- Richmond went on a 7-0 run to start the second, cutting VCU's lead to 19-14 with 6:44 left before halftime
- The Rams and Spiders traded buckets as VCU took a 27-21 lead into halftime
- The third quarter was an even battle, and the Rams margin remained at six points with a 41-35 leading heading into the fourth quarter
- After a Te-Biasu 3-point basket at 9:24 made it 44-38 in VCU's favor, the Spiders chipped away at VCU's lead with a 7-0 run
- Following a pair of made free throws by Townsend, the Spiders took their first lead of the game at the 8:10 mark of the fourth quarter making it 45-44
- Both sides traded leads over the next three minutes but at the 4:37 mark Richmond's Addie Budnik nailed a 3-point bucket to make it 53-51, giving Richmond a lead they wouldn't relinquish
- The Spiders closed the game on a 12-4 run to pull away from VCU
NOTABLE
- Te-Biasu's five made three-point field goals is the third game this year she has made at least five baskets from beyond the arc
- The Rams outrebounded the Spiders 39-29, the 22nd time in 25 games this season VCU has outrebounded an opponent. The Rams have only lost twice when outrebounding an opponent, both times to Richmond
