MENS TENNIS BOLSTERS ROSTER WITH TWO NEWCOMERS

Richmond, Va. – VCU Men's Tennis Head Coach Dimi Kutrovsky has announced the signings of Nicolo Consonni and Gevorg Mnatsakanyan.
 
Consonni joins the Rams from Briosco, Italy where he ranked as high as 544 in the ITF Junior Rankings and was a top 10 U-18 player in Italy. In 2022, Consonni had a record of 32-19 across singles and doubles for a 63% win rate on the year. During his ITF Junior career he captured the doubles title at the J60 Oslo tournament in 2023 and reached multiple finals. 
 
"I made this choice for both the academic and tennis level of VCU, which is one of the top in all of the USA. I can't wait to start this new journey to grow as a person, open my mind by meeting new people and connecting with new traditions." Consonni said. 
 
A Gaithersburg, Maryland native, Mnatsakanyan was ranked as high as No. 5 in UTR's Junior Boys rankings for the state of Maryland. In his ITF Junior tournaments appearances, Mnatsakanyan compiled a 50% win rate in doubles matches.

Men's Tennis kicks off their spring campaign on Jan. 18th when they head to Blacksburg, Va. to take on Virginia Tech.
