Lara Del Core stole the show on Senior Day, smacking 18 kills to lead VCU to a decisive sweep of George Washington Saturday at the Siegel Center.

OPENING VOLLEY
- The Revolutionaries had few answers for Del Core, as the 6-foot-2 righty hit .469 on the night on 32 swings
- Graduate middle blocker Jasmine Knight smashed nine kills on 15 attempts for the Rams. She hit .533
- The Black and Gold also received eight and seven kills from junior outside hitters Julia Rienks and Kalina Pylinska, respectively
- Sophomore libero Anja Kujundzic piled up 25 digs in just three sets to prop up a stout defensive effort by VCU
- Taylor Treahy led GW with nine kills
THE DIFFERENCE
- The Rams were in command for the majority of the match and hit .371 on the night. George Washington was not nearly as successful, hitting .110 has VCU dug 55 balls in just three frames
- VCU did not trail in the first of third sets. In the second, Del Core sandwiched a pair of kills around a Revs' hitting error to snap an 11-11 tie. The Rams never trailed again
- The Rams owned a 55-34 edge in digs and outblocked GW 5-3. VCU limited the Revolutionaries to just 25 kills in the matchÂ

- VCU has won a season-high seven straight matches, the program's longest since the 2021 season
