HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams played an evenly matched first half with only three total shot attempts between the schools. VCU led the shot count 2-1 at halftime
- Northeastern scored first in the third quarter as Maria Armaganian had a chipped ball over the VCU defense and Mega got in behind and scored
- The Rams answered less than two minutes later in the 43rd minute as Padgett was taken down in the circle. Snead stepped up to take the penalty stroke and beat the keeper to tie the game at 1-1
- Both teams pushed for a winner until Padgett received a pass in the circle from Rosenbrock before a half turn and shot to beat the goalkeeper
