The short story: VCU hit .266 behind a balanced attack and overwhelmed Norfolk State Saturday in its finale at Old Dominion's Quest for the Crown.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Senior outside hitter Ana Brangioni led the VCU offense with eight kills on 24 attempts, as well as eight digs
- Senior middle blocker Sarah Stratton kicked in seven kills and a pair of blocks for the Black and Gold, while junior outside hitter Parker Hartzell provided five kills, two blocks and hit .385
- Freshman libero Anja Kujundzic shored up the back line for the Rams with 14 digs
- Alexa Harris led all players with 12 kills for Norfolk State
THE DIFFERENCE
- VCU hit .266 and held the Spartans to a .165 mark. The Rams committed just 10 hitting errors on the day
- Norfolk State committed 15 service errors and served up just two aces. VCU served up nine aces
- The Rams did not trail in either of the first two sets and held the Spartans to .121 and .086 hitting percentages in the first and second frames, respectively
NOTABLE
- Saturday's win was the Rams' first under Head Coach Tim Doyle
- Graduate setter AnnaBelle Tomei has recorded four aces in VCU's first two matches
- Junior setter Taylor Aguano registered three aces on the afternoon
