RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball Head Coach
Beth O'Boyle has announced the signing of Mahaila Harrison to a National Letter of Intent.

Harrison, a native of Vancouver, Washington, spent this past season playing for DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida. At DME, Harrison was chosen as a 2023 McDonald's All-American Game Nominee and was named to the All- Sunshine Independent Athletic Association State First Team.

"We are thrilled to welcome Mahaila to our program. Mahaila has an incredible work ethic and loves being in the gym. She is a highly competitive three-level scorer whose length and aggressiveness will fit into our up-tempo style of play," O'Boyle said.

Harrison helped lead DME Academy to the SIAA State Championship, the school's second straight title. During the season, Mahaila averaged 11.0 points per game along with shooting 38 percent from 3-point range.

Prior to playing at DME Academy, Harrison played at Hudson Bay where she averaged 16.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. She helped lead the team to a sixth-place finish at the Washington 2A State Tournament, the best finish for the school in program history.
