WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ADDS ARGENTINIAN INTERNATIONAL NATALIA TONDI

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball head coach Beth O'Boyle has announced the signing of Argentinian international Natalia Tondi.

Tondi, a native of Buenos Aries, Argentina, just completed her sophomore season at Florida Southwestern State College. She averaged 10.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Bucs and led the team to the FCSAA State Tournament Semifinals. She started all 29 games for the Bucs this past season and 56 games overall during her two seasons.

"We're thrilled to have Natalia join VCU and Ram Nation. She is a high IQ basketball player who brings high-level international experience with Argentina's national team. Natalia will fit perfectly into our up-temp style of play and has an ability to score both inside the paint and from the 3-point line," O'Boyle said.

Natalia has appeared for Argentina's youth national team on multiple levels, most recently competing at the 2021 U19 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. She also participated in the South American U17 Women's Basketball Championship in 2019 and also competed in the same tournament at the U15 level.

During her time with the Bucs, Natalia was named to the First Team All-Southern Conference this past season while also earning Second Team All-Southern Conference honors as a freshman last year. Academically, she was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team as well as the FCSAA All-Academic Team and the Southern Conference All-Academic Team.
