The Short Story: VCU rallied from a 10-5 deficit late in the third quarter to tie the game at 13-13 with 2:17 remaining in the contest. The Bonnies then scored back-to-back goals immediately following the draw control to end the VCU's comeback attempt.

  • Kelsey McDonnell scored a team-high three goals along with one assist
  • Savannah Slack added three goals on just five shot attempts
  • Juliana George and Morgan Reed each scored twice while Mia George and Riley O'Malley each scored once

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • St. Bonaventure took a 3-1 lead with 5:06 left in the first quarter before the Rams rallied, scoring three of the next four goals to tie the game at 4-4 midway through the second quarter after a Slack goal
  • The Bonnies ended the half scoring four unanswered goals to lead 8-4 at the break
  • St. Bonaventure pushed their lead to 10-5 with 8:39 left in the third quarter, its largest lead of the game
  • VCU answered by scoring five of the next six goals and eight of the next 11 to tie the game at 13-13 on a Reed goal with 2:17 left
  • The Rams were unable to win the draw control as the Bonnies scored immediately to lead 14-13. St. Bonaventure won the ensuing draw again and to extend their lead to two and holding off VCU

VCU travels to crosstown rival Richmond on Saturday, March 18 for its next game. The opening draw will be at 5 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
