The Short Story:Â VCU rallied from a 10-5 deficit late in the third quarter to tie the game at 13-13 with 2:17 remaining in the contest. The Bonnies then scored back-to-back goals immediately following the draw control to end the VCU's comeback attempt.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- St. Bonaventure took a 3-1 lead with 5:06 left in the first quarter before the Rams rallied, scoring three of the next four goals to tie the game at 4-4 midway through the second quarter after a Slack goal
- The Bonnies ended the half scoring four unanswered goals to lead 8-4 at the break
- St. Bonaventure pushed their lead to 10-5 with 8:39 left in the third quarter, its largest lead of the game
- VCU answered by scoring five of the next six goals and eight of the next 11 to tie the game at 13-13 on a Reed goal with 2:17 left
- The Rams were unable to win the draw control as the Bonnies scored immediately to lead 14-13. St. Bonaventure won the ensuing draw again and to extend their lead to two and holding off VCU
