HOW IT HAPPENED:
- VCU struggled offensively in the first quarter but held the Dolphins to shoot 22.2 percent to build a 14-8 lead. VCU capitalized on four Le Moyne turnovers in the opening period
- The Rams went on a 9-0 run to start the second quarter with an Asare layup giving VCU a 23-8 lead with 3:50 left before halftime
- The Rams took a 28-13 lead into halftime, the fewest points VCU has allowed in a half this season
- To start the second half, the Rams' buckled down on defense and did not allow a field goal until the 3:19 mark of the third quarter. VCU led 39-13 at that point
- VCU reached their largest lead of 27 midway through the fourth quarter as fourteen Rams appeared in the contest
