The short story: Senior outside hitter Kialah Jefferson supplied a team-high nine kills for VCU in a 3-0 road loss to 18th-ranked Dayton Saturday to close out its regular season.
 
OPENING VOLLEY
  • Jefferson added eight digs and a pair of service aces to her afternoon
  • Junior opposite Parker Hartzell provided six kills and a block for the Black and Gold, while graduate opposite MaKenzie Chambers booked five kills and three blocks
  • Senior outside hitter Ana Brangioni kicked in five kills, two blocks and an ace for VCU
  • Lexie Almodovar led all players with 15 kills for the Flyers
THE DIFFERENCE
  • Dayton outhit VCU .232-.069. The Flyers committed just 14 hitting errors on the day
  • The Flyers also owned advantages in digs (42-36), blocks (8-6) and aces (13-5)
  • Dayton hit .300 in the first set and recorded just six errors in the first two sets combined on the way to a commanding lead in the match
