The Short Story:  VCU shot a season-high 44.6 percent from the floor and got a career-high 19 points from Chloe Bloom in the win over Loyola.

OPENING TIP: 
  • Bloom had 19 points and a team-high seven rebounds. She shot an efficient 8-of-14 from the floor
  • Janika Griffith-Wallace had 12 points and a team-high five assists
  • Timaya Lewis-Eutsey added eight points and five rebounds
  • The Rams outscored Loyola 44-28 in the paint and 11-6 in points off turnovers
  • VCU shot 44.6 percent from the floor while limiting Loyola to shoot just 35.1 percent
  • Loyola was led by Maya Chandler and Sam Galanopoulos who each had 10 points
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
  • VCU and Loyola were tied 5-5 early before a 9-0 run by the Rams, capped off by a Griffith-Wallace jumper, gave the Rams a 14-5 lead. VCU took a 14-7 advantage into the second quarter
  • In the second quarter, the Ramblers got within 29-25 before Lewis-Eutsey rebounded her own miss and scored to give VCU a 31-25 lead at the half
  • Loyola started the third quarter on a 6-0 run to tie the game at 31-31 with 8:07 left
  • VCU trailed 34-33 with 6:49 remaining in the third quarter before going on a 20-7 run, spanning across quarters, that gave the Rams their biggest lead of the game at 54-40 with 6:41 left in the game
  • Loyola would get no closer than eight points the remainder of the game as VCU held off the Ramblers for the win
