HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Rams doubled their lead seven minutes later in the 22nd minute as Skyler Padgett played a short pass to McCormick who beat the keeper from six yards out
  • Lafayette cut into the Rams lead in the 48th minute as McAndrew scored off a deflected pass
  • VCU went up 3-1 in the 53rd minute as McKinney and Carr-Brown had a two-on-one and McKinney played a pass across the face of the goal where a diving Carr-Brown scored at the far post
  • The Leopards again cut into the Rams' lead in the 57th minute with a goal from Spaans after she intercepted a VCU pass in front of the goal
  • VCU didn't allow a shot attempt in the final three minutes to hold on for the win
