The short story: Freshman midfielder Kendyl Sarver scored her fifth goal of the season and tied the game in the second half as VCU and Rhode Island tied in a 1-1 match.

  • VCU tied the game 1-1 after sophomore Kanna Matsuhisa fired a shot on goal in the 48th minute that produced a rebound for Sarver who found the back of the net
  • VCU had one final chance to take the lead in the 89th minute when sophomore defender Greta Kraszula missed with a shot wide of the net
