Richmond, Va. - VCU Men's Tennis signed Etienne Marty to a National Letter of Intent Head Coach Anthony Rossi announced Tuesday.

Marty signs from La Rochelle, France where he reached an ITF Junior Singles Ranking as high as 284. He will arrive on campus for the Fall 2022 season.

"Etienne is very mature for his age. He is well aware of his strengths and what he needs to do to elevate his game. Above all, he loves tennis and is really hungry to get out on the court. He ticks all the boxes of what we're looking for in a player" Rossi said.

Marty joins the Rams after an impressive junior career in his home country of France. He has been able to represent his country in both the European championships and European Youth Olympics Festival, playing some of the best youth competition across Europe.

"I liked the facilities and I had a great feeling about it. I was sure I was making the best choice" Marty said, when asked why he chose VCU.
