OPENING SERVE:

• VCU claimed the doubles point with two strong wins on courts one and two
• Grad Student Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado and Freshman Laura Garcia Astudillo took home their first competitive victory as a doubles pairing with a 6-0 sweep on court two
• Diaz-Delgado started the singles scoring for the Rams with a dominating 6-0, 6-2 victory over Liberty's Alexandra Almborg. Almborg was a ASUN All-Conference first team member last season
• Junior Gabriela Davidescu fought through a back and forth match that included two tiebreakers through the first two sets in order to claim a 7-6 (7-1), 6-7 (4-7), 6-3 victory from court three
• Freshman Laura Garcia Astudillo clinched the final point for the second straight match with a strong three set victory that saw her come back from one set down
