The Short Story: VCU took down no.25 ranked Auburn in the first round of the Blue Grey National Tennis Classic as two Rams defeat ranked singles opponents
 
OPENING SERVE
  • Grad Student Inigo Torre Martin took a commanding 6-4, 6-1 victory over no.45 ranked Tad Maclean. This marks the sixth straight singles victory for Torre Martin and his first over a ranked opponent this year
  • Senior Charles Bertimon defeated no.87 ranked Tyler Stice by a score of 6-2, 6-2. This improves Bertimon to 2-1 over ranked singles opponent this year
  • Sophomore Matisse Bobichon tallied his sixth consecutive singles win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Finn Murgett
  • The no.44 ranked doubles pairing of Charles Bertimon and Junior Maxence Bertimon clinched the match for the Rams with a hard fought 7-6 victory over Tad Maclean and Finn Murgett
