Qairo Bentley's 14 kills and 27 digs couldn't lift VCU in a five-set thriller Friday night in the Bronx.

OPENING VOLLEY
- It's Bentley's second straight match with 27 digs, a career high. She added three blocks, including a pair of solos
- Sophomore outside hitter Parker Hartzell added 10 kills and two blocks for VCU, while junior middle blocker Jasmine Knight provided eight kills and four blocks
- Freshman outside hitter Katie Heidenrich supplied eight kills and 18 digs in her most extensive action in a VCU uniform to date
- Whitley Moody led Fordham with a match-high 21 kills, as well as 21 digs
THE DIFFERENCE
- VCU hit .117 in the match, while Fordham recorded a .187 average
- The Black and Gold hit -.121 and fell behind 12-2 in the fifth set tiebreaker
- VCU looked poised to pull out the win when it built a 17-13 lead in the fourth set. But Fordham received three straight kills by Audrey Brown to ignite an 8-0 run on the way to stunning 25-21 victory. Fordham captured 12 of the final 16 points of the set
