Jasmine Knight led VCU with 15 kills, but the Rams dropped a 3-1 decision to Davidson Tuesday at the Siegel Center.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Knight hit .400 on 30 swings and also provided a team-high seven blocks for the Black and Gold
- Outside hitters Qairo Bentley and Kialah Jefferson added 11 and 10 kills, respectively, for VCU. Bentley also supplied 13 digs
- Sophomore libero Crew Hoffmeier added 19 digs from the back row for the Rams
- Sola Omonije sparked Davidson with 14 kills and eight blocks, while hitting .273
THE DIFFERENCE
- Davidson hit .222 in the match, while the Rams checked in with a .140 mark
- The Wildcats also owned advantages in digs (83-70), blocks (11-9) and aces (6-3)
- VCU pulled out a dramatic first set, 31-29, behind six Knight kills, as well as nine digs and five kills by Jefferson. But the Rams did not lead in either the second or third sets as Davidson gained control
- The Rams threatened in the second set, rallying to within 19-18, only to watch the Wildcats rattle off six of the next 10 points to secure a 25-22 victory
