The short story: Redshirt junior midfielder Anna Bagley's free kick in the 89th minute tied the game for the Rams after trailing by as many as two goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Junior defender Natalia Santangelo kicked a pass into the box to Matsuhisa who had her first shot blocked but then her second attempt bounced off a Patriots defender into the back of the net in the 8th minute
  • GMU's Sophie Davidson gave the Patriots their first lead of the day after she found a rebound off VCU's goalkeeper in the 65th minute
  • GMU's Davidson tacked on another goal for the Patriots in the 69th minute in almost the same fashion as she found a loose ball off the keeper
  • The Ram's comeback began in the 80th minute when Maughan scored a goal off a penalty kick after the Patriots committed a handball foul in the box
  • VCU was given one final chance in the 89th minute when senior defender Kayla Hodges was fouled and Bagley scored off the free kick to tie the game
