VCU TAKES DOWN VIRGINIA TECH ON DAY 2 OF THE ITA KICKOFF

The Short Story: VCU showed great determination and rallied back in singles play to claim a 4-2 victory over Virginia Tech in the second day of ITA Kickoff Weekend
 
OPENING SERVE
  • Virginia Tech edged out the point in a tight doubles competition that saw all three matches go to tiebreakers
  • Senior Rayane Stable opened the scoring for VCU with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 Victory on court four
  • Senior Charles Bertimon gave the Rams a 2-1 point advantage with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory on court one
  • After falling behind one set early, Junior Maxence Bertimon was able to fight back and force a third set through a tiebreaker. Bertimon utilized this momentum and claimed a 6-4 victory in the third set
  • Sophomore Matisse Bobichon clinched the match for VCU from court six in a matchup that saw Bobichon dominate the final two sets 6-0, 6-2
 
NOTABLE:
  • This win marks the first victory over Virginia Tech for VCU since the 2012-2013 season
