The short story: Junior outside hitter Qairo Bentley registered 13 kills and eight digs, but VCU could not overcome high-powered Florida State Friday night in Tallahassee.

• Freshman Kialah Jefferson continued her breakout freshman campaign for the Rams with 11 kills and nine digs on Friday
• Junior middle blocker Sabria Cooper added eight kills and four digs for the Black & Gold, while freshman libero Crew Hoffmeier contributed 16 digs
• Khori Louis led a balanced Seminoles attack with nine kills and four blocks

THE DIFFERENCE

• Florida State piled up 12 blocks and VCU struggled to get going offensively. The Rams hit .163 in the match, including .023 in the second set
• VCU was held without a block
• The Seminoles hit .308 on the night, and did not trail in the first or third sets

• Bentley has topped double-digits in kills three times this year
• Jefferson averaged 3.3 kills per set in three matches this weekend
