The Short Story: No. 36 VCU Men's Tennis suffered a 4-1 defeat to No. 35 Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA Championship Friday Afternoon at the Wake-Forest Tennis Center. 

OPENING SERVE
  • Trialing 1-0, the pairing of junior Charles Bertimon and senior Quentin Coulaud evened doubles play with a 6-3 victory on court three
  • Ohio State responded and earned the doubles point with a 7-5 win on court two
  • Facing to two-point deficit, junior Rayane Stable got the Rams on the board with a 6-4, 6-1 straight-set win on court four
  • 81st-ranked sophomore Lleyton Cronje ended his breakout season with a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Ohio State senior John McNally on court one. Cronje tallied a 12-4 singles record in his second year
  • The Buckeyes closed out the match with a three-set victory on court three, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3
