RICHMOND, Va. – VCU men's soccer senior defender Ulrik Edvardsen and sophomore midfielder Celio Pompeu were named to the 2020 Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State Second Team, the organization announced Thursday morning.
 
Edvardsen started every match for the Rams at center back, anchoring the VCU back line to four clean sheets in nine games. The Bergen, Norway, product also registered an assist in the Rams' 3-2 win at Elon on March 7. Edvardsen was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team as well.
 
Pompeu played in just three full matches in the 2020-21 season before being sidelined due to injury. His season was highlighted by a hat trick performance at Elon which included a game winning strike in the 83rd minute. The Fortaleza, Brazil, native was also named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team.
 
The Rams finished the spring 2021 campaign with a 4-3-2 overall record and a 3-2-1 mark in A-10 play.
