HOW IT HAPPENED:
- VCU had the first chance of the contest in the second minute as Lonica McKinney played the ball across from the wing but van Hijfte's point-blank shot attempt was saved
- The two teams remained deadlocked at 0-0 at the end of the first quarter after Janne Wetzel made a defensive save and Sasha Elliott made a kick save in the 14th minute
- VCU outshot Bucknell 6-0 in the second quarter and finally opened the scoring in the 27th minute as Field scored at the near post off a penalty corner. VCU led Bucknell 1-0 at the half
- The Bison tied the game at 1-1 in the 37th minute as Stefanowicz scored on a penalty corner
- VCU had numerous chances in the fourth quarter, outshooting the Bison 4-1 in the frame, but the game went to overtime tied 1-1
- In the first overtime period, Lonica McKinney had a breakaway attempt saved by Clara McCormick in the 69th minute
