Jasmine Knight led a valiant VCU effort with nine kills and five blocks, but the Rams fell to top-seeded Dayton Saturday in the A-10 Championship Match.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Knight, who was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 and All-Rookie on Thursday, hit .286 in the match and added four digs
- Senior outside hitter Paula Neciporuka added seven kills and 10 digs for the Black and Gold, while sophomore outside hitter Qairo Bentley provided eight kills
- Freshman setter Corinna Jones handed out 23 assists, dug 13 balls and registered a pair of blocks for VCU
- Amelia Moore led host Dayton with 10 kills and eight blocks
THE DIFFERENCE
- Dayton outhit VCU .260 to .137 in the match, and the Flyers outblocked the Rams 12-7
- VCU narrowly missed on an opportunity to tie the match in the second set. A Knight kill and a Dayton hitting error knotted the frame at 24-all, but Moore followed with back-to-back kills to push the Flyers over the top
- The Flyers hit .395 in the opening set on the way to a 25-15 win
