  • Senior midfielder Karen Lohrmann tallied three shots for the fourth time this season

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Off a corner kick in the 16th minute, George Washington fired a trio of shots at the Rams' goal. Young recorded two saves, but sophomore Tori Minda found the back of the net on the third attempt
  • In the 39th minute, freshman forward Annabel Anderson pushed to the center of the box and had a good look at goal, but her shot attempt was corralled by the Colonials' redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Tamaki Machi
  • The Rams' kept up the pressure as less than a minute later Lohrmann controlled a rebounded shot at the top of the penalty box and fired it back at the goal. Machi was again in position and handled the attempt
  • George Washington was content to play defense following the halftime break. The Rams outshot the Colonials 8-1 in the final 45 minutes, but were unable to push one across the line.
  • In the 87th minute, Jerabek blasted a shot from just outside the box. The ball had plenty of pace, but was scooped up by Machi
  • VCU had one final chance in the closing seconds. The Rams drew a corner and redshirt junior midfielder Emma Kershner placed the ball into the middle of the box, but it was cleared away by the Colonial's backline as the clock hit zero
