The Short Story: VCU Men's Tennis began improved to 6-0 with a 7-0 sweep of crosstown rival Richmond Saturday afternoon at the Westhampton Tennis Complex.

OPENING SERVE

• After Richmond opened the match with a win on court three, senior Inigio Torre Martin and junior Rayane Stable earned a 7-6 (7-1) victory on court two to even doubles competition
• Junior Charles Bertimon and Senior Quentin Coulaud clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-2) win on court one
• VCU has earned the doubles point in all six matches this season
• In singles competition, sophomore David Cierny earned a straight-set 6-2, 6-1 win on court five to give the Rams a 2-0 lead
• Torre Martin followed Cierny with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Richmond junior Alex Wernink
• Sophomore Lleyton Cronje clinched the match for VCU with a straight set, 6-4, 6-4 win on court one
• Bertimon and Coulaud notched straight-set victories on courts two and four, respectively
• Stable rounded out the match with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win on court six
• The Rams have won 94% (34-2) of single matches this year and 88% (14-2) of double matches
