RICHMOND, Va. ­– VCU Men's Tennis will begin its first road trip of the season on Friday as it travels to Fairfax, Va. to take on George Mason at 1 p.m.
 
Following Friday's matchup, the Rams will face cross-town rival Richmond on Sunday at 2 p.m. to close out the week.
 
VCU enters the weekend looking to continue its four-match season-opening win streak. The Rams last 5-0 start came in the 2017-18 season.
 
Senior Quentin Coulaud and junior Rayane Stable have led the Rams in singles play through the opening portion of the schedule. Coulaud and Stable are both undefeated with four singles victories on the year.
 
Coulaud and junior Charles Bertimon have paced the Rams in doubles competition. The pairing is 3-0 with all three victories coming on court one.
 
George Mason enters Friday's match at 1-0, with a season-opening victory over Villanova on Feb. 20. 
 
It will be the 27^th all-time meeting between the two programs with VCU holding a commanding 25-1 series lead.
 
Richmond comes into the weekend at 1-3 and will face William & Mary on Friday before taking on the Rams at the Westhampton Tennis Complex.
 
The Spiders' roster is headlined by graduate Matt Fernandez a 2019 First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection. Fernandez posted a 10-14 singles record last season and was ranked as high as No. 60 in doubles competition with junior Josh Keitelman.
 
Sunday's match will be the 44^th chapter of the rivalry with VCU leading the series 36-8.
