TORRE MARTIN PRESERVES PERFECT RECORD IN RAMS' VICTORY OVER ELON

The Short Story: No. 39 VCU Men's Tennis swept singles competition to earn a 4-1 victory over Elon Saturday afternoon at the Thalhimer Tennis Center

OPENING SERVE
  • The Phoenix took the doubles point with wins on courts two and three
  • Senior Inigo Torre Martin and junior Rayane Stable were leading 5-4 on court one when Elon clinched the point
  • Torre Martin opened singles competition with a 6-0, 6-3 straight-set victory on court three. The senior improved to 8-0 in singles matches this season with the win
  • Sophomore Lleyton Cronje gave the Rams their first lead of the day with a 7-5, 6-1 victory on court two
  • Senior Quentin Coulaud followed with a 6-1, 6-3 straight-set win on court four
  • Senior Timo Zgraggen secured the match victory with a 6-0, 6-4 straight-set win on court six
