- The Rams held the Wildcats without a shot attempt in the second quarter and broke the 0-0 deadlock when Field scored on a chip shot into the upper corner in the 29th minute
- VCU doubled its lead in the 40th minute as McCormick redirected Field's ball in past the keeper
- McCormick scored again in the 44th minute after collecting her own rebound and shooting in past the goalie
