The Short Story: After only outshooting Davidson 4-3 in the first half and leading 1-0, VCU dominated the second half and outshot the Wildcats 14-1 and cruised to the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
  • The first quarter was a defensive battle with Davidson outshooting VCU 3-2
  • The Rams held the Wildcats without a shot attempt in the second quarter and broke the 0-0 deadlock when Field scored on a chip shot into the upper corner in the 29th minute
  • VCU doubled its lead in the 40th minute as McCormick redirected Field's ball in past the keeper
  • McCormick scored again in the 44th minute after collecting her own rebound and shooting in past the goalie
