HEAD COACH DAVID GIFFARDÂ
Â
"Each time we seem to find a way for us to play, we lose some key pieces that allow us to do what we were having some success with. We gutted through the other night at Davidson and found a goal and that was a really good result for us. Today we subtracted a few more guys and tried to adjust accordingly with a walk through training session in a downpour in standing water yesterday and I have to take the blame for not preparing is well enough to do so. I was proud of the guys for trying their best to make those adjustments on the fly today, but we were obviously not as comfortable do doing as we would have liked. Mason is a well-organized and well coached team, they forced us to try and break them down and carry the game and quite honestly we just weren't able to do so effectively enough without the types of players who function well in those spaces between the lines. It will be important for us to continue to learn and work together to solve how we can play in order to take advantage of the number of good players that we do have.
