NO. 43 VCU MEN’S TENNIS TO HOST SATURDAY DOUBLEHEADER

RICHMOND, Va. – No. 43 VCU Men's Tennis will begin a four-match homestand on Saturday with a doubleheader against Duquesne and Delaware. The matches will begin at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
 
The Rams are 8-1 following a successful three-match road trip through Arizona last weekend. VCU went 2-1 overall including a 4-3 upset victory over No. 17 Arizona State on Saturday. 
 
On Wednesday, the Rams entered the ITA Top 50 rankings for the first time since March 10, 2020.
 
Senior Inigo Torre Martin has paced VCU in singles play this season. Torre Martin is a perfect 7-0 at the halfway point.
 
Duquesne comes into Saturday's match at 3-1 after suffering a 6-1 defeat to Youngstown State on Sunday. The Dukes are led by senior Alex Mascioli who has tallied a 3-1 singles record this season competing on court one.
 
Delaware enters the weekend at 2-1 with victories over Villanova and Monmouth. The Blue Hens will square off with Richmond at 10 a.m. Saturday before heading over to Thalhimer Tennis Center.
 
Per athletic department policy, matches at the tennis center are not open to the general public at this time.
