The short story: Sophomore outside hitter Qairo Bentley registered 12 kills and 12 digs to highlight a dominant VCU effort Friday night in Pittsburgh, Pa.
 
FIRST SERVE
  • Bentley hit .476 on 21 swings for VCU. She committed just two errors and added two blocks on the evening
  • Freshman middle Jasmine Knight hit 429 with seven kills and six blocks for the Black and Gold
  • Freshman Kylie Loftis also supplied 10 kills and hit .474 for the Rams
  • Morgan Kelly paced Duquesne with 11 kills
THE DIFFERENCE
  • VCU was again dominant at the net. The Rams, who entered the match sixth in the country in blocking, outblocked the Dukes 10-4
  • The Rams hit .275 or better in every set and finished the match with a .363 mark
  • Duquesne hit .083 in the match

  • VCU improved to 48-3 against Atlantic 10 Conference opponents the past four seasons
