The short story:Â
Sarah Te-Biasu tied the game at 60-60 with 2.5 seconds left on a 3-pointer but Buffalo advanced the ball and Georgia Woolley hit a buzzer-beater for the win.
OPENING TIP:
- Taya Robinson scored a team-high 19 points on 7-of-19 shooting
- Chloe Bloom scored a career-high 16 points and added eight rebounds. Bloom was 6-of-11 from the floor
- Sarah Te-Biasu was the third Ram in double figures, scoring 10 points with three rebounds
- VCU shot just 4-of-25 from 3-point range and was 12-of-19 from the free throw line. The Bulls were 4-of-14 from 3-point range and 13-of-21 from the charity stripe
- VCU had 15 turnovers to Buffalo's 14 but the Bulls held a 19-8 advantage in points off turnovers
- Buffalo was led by Dayaisha Fair who scored 22 points

HOW IT HAPPENED
- VCU and Buffalo had a back-and-forth quarter that saw the Rams leading 8-7 with 4:12 left before the Bulls closed the quarter on an 7-0 run. The Rams had three turnovers during the run and Buffalo led 14-7.
- The Bulls pushed their lead to 25-15 with 5:01 left in the quarter before a 10-4 run by VCU capped off with a Hattix-Covington jumper cut the deficit to 29-25 at the half
- VCU shot just 1-of-11 from 3-point range in the first half while the Bulls held a 9-3 edge in points off turnovers during the first half
- The Rams went on a 9-2 run to open the second half and took a 34-31 lead on a Te-Biasu 3-pointers. Buffalo and VCU went back-and-forth again and the teams were tied 39-39 heading into the fourth quarter
- Buffalo pushed its lead to 59-50 with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter before the Rams stormed back on a 10-1 run and Te-Biasu tied the game on a 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left
- The Bulls took a timeout and advance the ball where Woolley caught the inbounds and hit a floater at the buzzer
