The short story: Trailing 17-10 late in the first quarter, VCU put together a 33-7 run across parts of three different quarters and cruised to the win. The Rams led by double digits for the remainder of the game following the run.

- Taya Robinson recorded her second career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both of her career double-doubles have come against Richmond.
- Sydnei Archie had 12 points, four rebounds and two assists for the Rams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- VCU led 6-5 with 6:17 left in the first quarter but Richmond went on a 12-4 run to lead 17-10 with 29 seconds left in the quarter.
- Danielle Hammond's putback layup with one second left in the first quarter ignited a 33-7 run as VCU went ahead 36-24 at the half.
- Robinson scored 10 points for VCU during the long run as she shot 3-of-3 from the field.
- The Rams' lead ballooned to as many as 19 points at 43-24 with 8:11 in the third quarter.
- Richmond would make a 7-0 run in the fourth quarter to get within 51-40 but VCU held off any attempt at a comeback and the Spiders would get no closer.
