The short story: No. 1 seed VCU will be playing to win its third striaght Atlantic 10 Championship after Javier Amantegui won a 6-1, 6-7(4), 7-5 thriller to clinch the semifinal match for the Rams.
OPENING SERVE
- The Rams won the 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles to clinch the win after Dayton earned the doubles point and won the 1 and 2 singles.
- Philip Mobius defeated Spencer Richey 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 singles.
- Inigo Torre Martin won 6-0, 6-2 against Steven Karl.
- Inaki Rivero Crespo defeated Lorenzo Rollhauser 6-0, 6-4.
- Amantegui sealed the win for VCU as the last match to finish with a 6-1, 6-7(4), 7-5 victory.
