OPENING VOLLEY
- Senior opposite Gina Tuzzolo (Newport News, Va.) blasted 11 kills and hit .435 to lead the VCU attack. She was one of four Rams to record eight or more kills
- Redshirt senior middle blocker Jaelyn Jackson (South Chesterfield) hit .500 and registered 10 kills for the Black and Gold
- Senior outside Vicky Giommarini (Rome, Italy) and middle Kat Young supplied nine and eight kills, respectively, for VCU. You also provided four blocks
- Senior middle blocker Jasmin Sneed (San Antonio, Texas) patrolled the middle to the tune of six kills and five blocks for VCU
- Elise Benjamin led Fordham with eight kills
THE DIFFERENCE
- VCU controlled the match from the outset. The Black and Gold outhit Fordham by a .292-.124 margin. VCU also outblocked the opposition 8-5 and recorded 51 digs for Forham's 44
- VCU limited to a hitting percentages of .022 and .029 in the first and second sets on the way to a 2-0 lead. Fordham did hit .364 in the third, but VCU responded by hitting .533 without committing an error
NOTABLE
- VCU extended its season-high win streak to 14 matches. The Black and Gold has won its last 10 matches via the sweep. VCU has lost just two sets in conference play this season
