The short story: Junior outside hitter Vicky Giommarini powered VCU with eight kills, eight digs and four aces and as the Rams won their fourth straight match Friday.
OPENING VOLLEY
- Giommarini, who hit .227, led a balanced VCU attack that featured five players with at least five kills and three with four or more blocks
- Junior opposite Gina Tuzzolo spiked four kills, served up three aces and collected a pair of blocks for the Black and Gold
- Junior middle blocker Jasmin Sneed, who entered the night ranked seventh in the country in blocks per set, continued her torrid pace with six rejections, as well as five kills
- In addition, VCU sophomore outside hitter Paula Neciporuka added seven kills and hit .333
- Maya Taylor led all players with 11 kills for the Billikens
