MOBIUS EARNS CLINCHER AS RAMS TOPPLE MTSU 4-3

The short story: VCU freshman Philip Mobius rallied for a three-set win on the No. 6 singles court to clinch a 4-3 win at Middle Tennessee State Sunday.
 
FIRST SERVE
  • Mobius fell behind Robin Riethmueller 6-3 in the first set, but rallied for 6-3 and 7-5 victories in the final two frames to give the Rams the victory.
  • VCU trailed 2-1 in the match, but closed out three of the final four singles matches to earn its 15th win of the season.
  • Junior Catalin Fifea knotted the match at 2-all when he edged Gian Issa 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 on the No. 4 court.
  • Moments later, Vitor Lima pushed Middle Tennessee State to the brink when he breezed through the final two sets of a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Miguel Negre at second singles.
